What is composite bonding?

Composite bonding is a very popular cosmetic dental treatment with patients from Battersea, Brixton, Stockwell, Wandsworth, Clapham and throughout London.

Composite bonding is also known as dental bonding and teeth bonding. It is a quick and easy treatment that involves using a special tooth-coloured material which is gently applied to a tooth or several teeth to change the size, shape and colour.

Dental bonding can be used to:

  • Disguise chipped or fractured teeth
  • Lengthen short teeth
  • Close unwanted gaps between teeth
  • Even out worn teeth
  • Disguise stained or discoloured teeth

How does dental bonding work at The Cosmetic Dental Gallery?

At your first consultation we will assess your teeth, take photographs and discuss how we can help change your smile.

At your next appointment, we will choose the shade of composite resin that most closely matches your teeth.

Next, we will prepare your tooth. We will gently scratch at the surface of your tooth; this is to ensure that the composite material will adhere to the surface of your tooth. This process does not hurt at all.

Then, the composite bonding material is gently moulded and shaped to your tooth until we are all happy with how it looks.

The dental bonding is hardened to your tooth using a special U.V light. We then spend some time polishing the bonding so that it is looks completely natural and becomes part of your tooth.
