What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is the popular way to straighten teeth without using metal brackets and wires. Instead, Invisalign uses clear, plastic aligners which sit over the top of your teeth and are practically invisible.

Invisalign are custom made to fit only your teeth so they’re extremely comfortable with no rubbing against your gums.

The other main difference from traditional braces is that you can remove your Invisalign aligners to eat, drink and to brush your teeth which makes them a far more hygienic form of teeth straightening!

We’ve treated hundreds of patients from Battersea, Wandsworth, Stockwell, Clapham, Brixton and London for Invisalign aligners and everyone loves the stunning results that Invisalign gives.

Invisalign can:

  • Straighten crooked teeth
  • Space out crowded teeth
  • Close unwanted gaps between teeth
  • Correct protruding teeth
  • Help with some bite problems

At The Cosmetic Dental Gallery in Battersea, we offer two types of Invisalign dental braces:

Invisalign I7 – which is for mild teeth straightening
Invisalign Full – for moderate to severe teeth straightening.

We can assess which is best for you when you book your free Invisalign consultation.

How does Invisalign work?

At your first consultation in Battersea, we will talk through what you’d like to change about your teeth. We’ll assess your mouth, teeth and gums and take pictures using a camera and a special 3D scanner.

These 3D images will show you how your teeth will move during Invisalign treatment and how they will look after you’ve finished wearing your aligners. This means you get to see how your teeth will look before even starting treatment!

When you decide to go ahead with Invisalign, the 3D images will make up your bespoke treatment plan. These are used to create a series of clear, plastic aligners which only fit your teeth.

Once these are ready, we invite you back to the dental practice in Battersea to show you how to wear and remove your Invisalign aligners.

You will be given several sets of Invisalign aligners to take home. You wear your aligners for a minimum of 20 hours a day and then move on to the next set of aligners in the series. Continue in this way until you reach the last set of aligners, and your teeth have reached their final position.

I recently visited the practise for my composite bonding treatment. I was very nervous for the result but Dr Tej and the staff made me feel very comfortable. Dr Tej took so much care in perfecting my smile, as if my teeth were an art piece! I am so happy with the result, I used to be afraid to show my teeth whilst smiling and now I get so many compliments for having a beautiful smile! And to add to this, Dr Tej ensured that not only did my smile look amazing, but offered me genuine advice on the best treatment plans and aftercare, as well as making sure I didn’t experience any pain or discomfort!

FAQ

Why do I need to remove my braces before eating and drinking?
We recommend only drinking cold water with your aligners in and taking them out for anything else that you consume. You need to remove your Invisalign aligners before eating because you could chew straight through the plastic. If you drink anything other than cold water with your aligners, you will risk staining them which will make them look unattractive. It may seem like a pain to begin with, but you will soon get into a routine of removing your aligners quickly and discreetly before eating and drinking.
Why do I need to change my Invisalign aligners every week?
It’s important that you move on to the new set of aligners as instructed by your dentist because each set will fit your teeth for the exact moment in your treatment plan. As your teeth gradually move, so to do your Invisalign aligners need to match your new straighter teeth!
What happens if I lose or break an Invisalign aligner?
Don’t panic, call us at the dental surgery in Battersea and we will decide whether it is best for you to move on to the next set of aligners in your series or revert to the previous set. For this reason, we suggest that you don’t throw away your Invisalign aligners after you’ve finished wearing them.
