What is teeth whitening?

Over time teeth naturally become darker and duller. This can happen due to smoking, consuming lots of dark coloured food and drink such as coffee, red wine and spicy food. Teeth can also become darker due to illnesses or trauma.

Teeth whitening at The Cosmetic Dental Gallery in Battersea is a safe and professional way to bring back the sparkle to your teeth. Hundreds of patients from Clapham, Brixton, Wandsworth, Stockwell, Battersea and throughout London are choosing teeth whitening because it’s an easy and painless treatment that instantly improves your smile.

If you’re thinking about getting your teeth whitened, it’s always best to do so with a cosmetic dentist. Teeth whitening is safer and can achieve a brighter shade when overseen by an expert dentist rather than the self-whitening kits that you can buy in shops or online.

What are the options for teeth whitening at The Cosmetic Dental Gallery?

At The Cosmetic Dental Gallery in Battersea, we offer two ways to safely whiten teeth:

1) Enlighten’s Evolution teeth whitening

This treatment combines whitening at home with a final treatment at the surgery in Battersea.

Enlighten is popular with patients from Stockwell, Wandsworth, Battersea, Brixton, Clapham, and throughout London because it is renowned for achieving whiter teeth by up to 16 shades.

We will start by taking digital scans of your teeth. These images will be sent to the Enlighten Evolution laboratory where your custom-made teeth whitening trays will be made for you.

Whilst you are waiting for your bespoke teeth whitening trays to be made, you will use Enlighten tooth serum to brush your teeth which will prepare your teeth for the whitening solution.

Once your whitening trays are ready, we will invite you back to the dental practice in Battersea to show you how to fill your trays with Enlighten teeth whitening solution. You then wear the teeth whitening trays every night for the next two weeks.

You will then return to The Cosmetic Dental Gallery in Battersea to receive your next course of whitening treatment at the dental surgery. This takes around 40 minutes and uses an extra strength Enlighten whitening formula which only dentists can administer.

Depending upon your lifestyle, the Enlighten teeth whitening treatment can last up to 3 years before you need to repeat the treatment. You can help to maintain your sparkling new smile by wearing your trays for one night every month and substituting your toothpaste occasionally with the Enlighten tooth serum.

Great experience

Great experience with Dr. Tej and the entire team! Great addition to the area which until now lacked such quality dentistry.

Best Treatment Plans & Aftercare

I recently visited the practise for my composite bonding treatment. I was very nervous for the result but Dr Tej and the staff made me feel very comfortable. Dr Tej took so much care in perfecting my smile, as if my teeth were an art piece! I am so happy with the result, I used to be afraid to show my teeth whilst smiling and now I get so many compliments for having a beautiful smile! And to add to this, Dr Tej ensured that not only did my smile look amazing, but offered me genuine advice on the best treatment plans and aftercare, as well as making sure I didn’t experience any pain or discomfort!

What are the benefits of teeth whitening?

Patients from Stockwell, Battersea, Clapham, Brixton, Wandsworth, and throughout London are choosing teeth whitening because:
Teeth whitening is a quick and easy treatment that will noticeably update your smile
Teeth whitening when overseen by an expert dentist is safe
Choose from the different teeth whitening options to best suit your lifestyle
Teeth whitening is painless and there are options if you have sensitive teeth

Is teeth whitening suitable for anyone?
Most adults with healthy teeth are suitable for teeth whitening. We will not treat pregnant or breast-feeding women for teeth whitening and you maybe exempt if you have certain illnesses or are taking particular medications. This will be discussed at your first free consultation.
Can I have my teeth whitened if I have dental bonding?
Teeth whitening will only work on your natural teeth and not on restorations such as bonding, veneers or dental implants. If you are looking at having several cosmetic dental treatments, we advise that you get your teeth whitened first so that other restorative treatments can be matched to your new whiter teeth.
Does it hurt to get teeth whitened?
No, teeth whitening when carried out by a professional dentist should not hurt. If you suffer with sensitive teeth, you may notice some sensitivity when whitening teeth, but it should not last for long and shouldn’t be painful. If you have sensitive teeth, you should discuss this with your dentist before starting teeth whitening treatment.
